Map Development: • Provide a mapping tool the public can use to submit redistricting suggestions. • Leverage advanced mapping and modeling technologies to visualize proposed changes and simulate various scenarios, enhancing data-driven decision-making. • Work with the county GIS team to develop preliminary and final district maps based upon board adopted criteria. iii. Public Engagement: • Organize in-person and virtual town hall/open house meetings. • Establish a dedicated webpage on the county website for redistricting updates. • Collaborate with internal communication staff and legal representatives to develop materials for public education and input sessions. o Create informative brochures, flyers, and digital content. o Develop FAQs and guides explaining the redistricting process and responding to mis/disinformation concerning the redistricting effort. iv. Legal Compliance: • Ensure all proposed maps comply with the Voting Rights Ac. Kansas state statutes and other relevant legislation. v. Reporting: • Deliver a comprehensive report summarizing findings, methodologies, and recommendations.
