The Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) is seeking information and estimated pricing for replacement or upgrading the range control systems within our indoor shooting ranges located at 4190 Aumsville Hwy SE, Salem, OR 97317. DPSST is in the information gathering stage and cannot guarantee that a solicitation or contract will be awarded for this project. DPSST has three (3) indoor shooting ranges contained within a single building; individually known as the Red Range, White Range, and Blue Range. All three (3) ranges are 100-feet wide and configured with 25 lanes, both the Red Range and White Range have firing space of 25-yards, and the Blue Range is 50-yards. All the DPSST ranges are lead-free and are equipped with bullet traps containing fire resistant granulated rubber. Bullet trap replacement and/or maintenance is not within the scope of this project. The intended goal of this Request for Information is to gain knowledge and pricing to replace/upgrade the control systems within each range with current technology to include wireless control systems that would accommodate system operation from the floor of the ranges. Targets: Targets within the ranges turn 360-degrees and can be held stationary either edged or faced in 90-degree increments. Currently have two lanes on each range that move forward/back which is a function that is not used or needed within the new/upgraded system. Lighting and HVAC: The current lighting configuration within each range includes house, egress, and emergency vehicle lighting. The current connection between the targets and the lights are just an all on / all off blink command based on the safeties of the range system. If possible, agency goal is to have the ability to control the targets, lighting, and HVAC systems remotely on the floor of the ranges from a tablet or similar portable device as our current systems can only be manipulated from inside the range control rooms. If lights and HVAC cannot be fully integrated and controlled by the range management system, it would at a minimum need to contain an interface with the lights as all on, or all off, as a safety warning system. Please submit information regarding available range management system features offered and current estimated pricing. Information should be all-inclusive with all required hardware, software, and service for installation. Record drawing of the DPSST shooting range building is attached.
