The Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR) requires the acquisition and use of a multi-sensor core logger to provide fast, simple, non-destructive chemical analysis of minerals, rocks, and fluids that will provide crucial information on Missouri's surface and subsurface mineral resources. The GeoTek BoxScan System is the only system that can scan such rock core, while keeping it in the box, which allows for preservation of the rock core. Additionally, the GeoTek BoxScan System includes the necessary sensor suite for comprehensive critical mineral analysis to determine the critical mineral potential of the rock core, including the visible and near-infrared (VNIR) and short-wave infrared (SWIR) sensors. GeoTek, Ltd. is the sole and exclusive provider of the GeoTek BoxScan System and therefore is the sole source for such system, which includes the VNIR and SWIR sensors. As a result, this represents a proprietary requirement that meets the criteria as a single feasible source under RSMo 34.044 and the State is pursuing this acquisition as a Single Feasible Source.
