1. This project is the paving or repaving of areas designated. Project may include the pulverizing of the existing asphalt and base, mixing in cement, compacting and overlaying of the compacted base with asphalt, patching and repairing of base material parking areas and paving or grading, adding base and paving.; 1. The contractor shall patch or repair any potholes in the existing base material. 2. The contractor shall uniformly grade the existing base. 3. Reroll the existing base to compacted uniform surface. 4. The subgrade shall be density and moisture tested at least 1 test per 10,000 sf; 1. Remove all roots, root balls, brush, vegetation and other debris. Topsoil shall be stripped to a depth of 4 to 6 inches. 2. Following the necessary site clearing and stripping the subgrade should be recompacted to between 95 and 100 percent standard proctor astm d 698. 3. The subgrade should then be brought to grade with 8" of compact base. Base material shall comply with txdot item 247 type 'a' grade 1 or 2 compacted to a minimum of 95 percent standard proctor astm d 698 at + or - 2 percent of optimum moisture. 4. The subgrade shall be density and moisture tested at least 1 test per 10,000 sf.
