The 1529 Train Project will require: 1. Artwork on 15 Metal Trains: The project involves creating original artwork on 15 metal train structures located in Amory, MS. Each train measures 48 inches by 32 1/16 inches. The artwork should celebrate Amory’s heritage, community values, and local significance. 2. Surface Preparation: Artists may need to perform or coordinate minor surface preparation to ensure paint adhesion, including cleaning and priming as appropriate. 3. Use of Approved Exterior Paint: All artwork must be completed using an approved exterior-grade paint specifically designed for metal surfaces to ensure durability and sustainability in outdoor elements. The recommended paint for this project is COROTECH Aliphatic Acrylic Urethane Gloss Paint. 4. Transportation: The metal trains are currently located in Amory, MS. Selected artists will be responsible for transporting the trains to their location of choice and returning them upon project completion, at their own expense. 5. Cleanup: Proper disposal of materials and site cleanup after completion. 6. Project Division Option: Amory Main Street, Inc. may choose to divide the project among up to three artists, with each artist being responsible for five trains. Artists interested in working on fewer than 15 trains should clearly state this in their proposal.
