II. General Requirements 1. Provide standard commercial truck capable of hauling the specified container(s) to a recycling center located in Maine a one-way distance of approximately 70 miles or less. If it is reasonable and can accommodate the needs of the City schedule, a roll-off on the truck with a roll-off on a trailer hooked behind the truck (tag-a-long) is permissible. 2. Truck must have current, valid State of Maine Inspection Sticker and all other required permits and licenses. 3. Truck must be in good working order and condition. 4. Contractor is responsible for all truck maintenance, fuel and fluids. 5. Contractor or contractor’s driver must be dependable and have a current, valid and clean CDL license A or B as needed to operate the required vehicle. Apparent successful bidder shall be required to provide a copy of the driving record of the driver(s) that will be operating the truck(s), when requested by City representative. 6. Contractor or designee operating the truck(s) shall have a neat appearance, be well mannered and report for the scheduled roll-off pickup and delivery in a timely manner. The Director of Public Works reserves the right to request another truck and driver if the driver or truck is deemed unable to perform the duties of the job satisfactorily.
