1. The School Psychology Specialist position works under the general supervision of the Conway Human Development Center (CHDC) Superintendent. This position will be filled by a School Psychology Specialist who will address all appropriate aspects of special education related activities for school-aged individuals at CHDC. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. The Contractor shall: a. Interview clients to obtain background information, including family history, education, and mental, physical, and emotional health, and prepares report indicating medical problems, educational levels, special needs, residential plans, and further assessment needs. b. Work with the Individual Education Plan (IEP) Committee to determine an individualized behavioral management/treatment program. Provide behavior modification/management recommendations for special education. c. Monitor behavior management and treatment programs, documents progress or regression, modifies programs, as necessary, and prepares and maintains progress reports on each client for special education. d. Conduct all required school-related psychological assessments e.g., intelligence, academic achievement, adaptive behavior, etc. and write the comprehensive Psychoeducational report for special education. e. Attend staff/professional meetings and workshops to discuss progress/problems of clients and make recommendations regarding behavior management for special education. f. Upon request, conduct in-service training for direct care and special education staff on implementation of behavior management procedures or may train family members on treatment methods to be continued at home. g. Conduct assessments as referred by CHDC for special education. h. Provide behavior modification/management recommendations for special education. i. Visit each client weekly and provide a monthly summary.
