CDPH's Lead Poisoning Prevention Program seeks to provide lead poisoning prevention training and education to childcare providers regarding lead-based hazards in childcare settings located in areas of the city where childhood lead poisoning is most prevalent. This will include working with Chicago Public Schools (CPS), community-based childcare and early learning centers, and organizations who serve pregnant and postpartum people, and families with children under age six. Program activities will consist of engaging staff at these community-based settings and providing them with education and training on lead poisoning prevention and minimizing environmental health hazards in places frequently by young children. The selected organization will also provide community-based outreach and engagement around lead poisoning prevention to families with children under age six served by early childhood organizations.
