The project consists of but is not limited to, excavation and removal of existing pipe(s) and installation of new pipe(s) located on select roads in Caroline County, Maryland. Location #1: American Corner Road (Pipe #1) 1. Saw cut straight edges of the road on both sides of the excavation. Assume 42 linear feet. 2. Excavate and remove the existing pipe. Include hand excavation of any utilities or wires to prevent damage. The existing utilities or wires may be trenched or directional bore through the existing storm drainpipe, if so, the pipe may need to be cut to prevent damage to those utilities. Assume 15 +/- feet wide by 5 feet deep by 48 +/- feet long excavation. 3. Excavate and place 6 inches of #2 stone below the proposed replacement pipe(s). Assume 15 +/-feet wide by 6 inches deep by 48 feet long or approximately 20 tons of #2 stone. 4. Install the corrugated metal pipes. The pipe will be supplied and delivered to the site by Caroline County. Install 48 linear feet sections of 18-inch pipe. 5. Backfill the pipe with onsite excavated material if deemed suitable. The backfill material shall be placed in 8- inch lifts and compacted with a mechanical jump tamp or trench roller. If the excavated soil is unsuitable or has an excessive moisture content, that material shall be hauled away and replaced with Caroline County- approved bank-run gravel. Assume 15+\- feet wide by 5 feet deep by 48 feet long or 135 cubic yards of backfill.
