It is declared and acknowledged that the intention and meaning of this solicitation is to provide a fully functional, free standing instructional greenhouse with installation for Macedonia Middle School located within Berkeley County School District. Contractor shall provide a turnkey service to include to include design and engineering, installation, and interior electrical & plumbing, etc. Contractor shall assume all responsibility associated with this contract; including but not limited to, all licenses, permits, labor, fees, insurance, fuel, supplies and any other expenses required to carry out the required service. The successful contractor shall be licensed by the state of South Carolina in the appropriate trade and have, at least, three (3) years of documented experience. The responsibilities of the vendor shall include: 1. The Contractor shall furnish all supervision, labor, materials, and equipment necessary to accomplish the installation of a fully functional instructional greenhouse as defined in more detail herein. 2. Installation shall be performed by a manufacturer approved crew with a minimum of two (3) years’ experience in greenhouse construction. 3. The District Facilities Staff will be responsible for site preparation, and physical connection of electrical and plumbing requirements. 4. It is the sole responsibility of the vendor to familiarize themselves with the site in preparation of a response (See Attachment E). District Facilities will be made available for viewing by interested firms by appointment only by contacting Lisa Burke, 843-899-8655, burkel@bcsdschool.net. No prospective bidder is authorized on school premises without prior authorization of the District. 5. The Contractor shall complete a thorough inspection of the site within one (1) week following award and prior to issuance of a contract. The purpose of the inspection is to ensure there are no issues or concerns, on behalf of RFQ #10333-(24-25) REBID – GREENHOUSE FOR MACEDONIA MIDDLE SCHOOL 12 either party, which could incur additional costs or delay project implementation/completion. The Contractor will be required to meet with the District at this time to discuss project implementation plans. 6. The Contractor warrants to the District that all services performed as a result of this solicitation will be performed in a professional manner consistent with industry practice. 7. Contractor shall perform all required work in such a manner as to minimize the disruption of the daily operation of the school.
