SIGN CASE Compliance Variance The sign case shall be a full matrix display capable of displaying text, graphic, and arrow board messages. The height of the sign case shall be 75”, minimum. The width of the sign case shall be 126”, minimum. The pixel matrix shall have 25 rows, minimum. The pixel matrix shall have 48 columns, minimum. The pixels shall have 4 LED’s per pixel, minimum The LED’s shall be high intensity, dimmable. The display shall be automatically dimmed by use of a photocell, as a minimum. The viewing angle shall be no less than 30 degrees. The display must be capable of 3 lines of text with 8 characters, minimum. The display must be capable of multiple text sizes, including 18”. The display must be capable of showing text, symbols, text and symbols, arrows, and sequencing arrows. The display must be legible in daylight or dark a 1000’, minimum. The sign case shall be constructed of aluminum with a black powder coat finish. The cover over the display face shall be non-glare clear UV inhibited polycarbonate. CONTROLLER A minimum of 60 standard MUTCD signs and symbols shall be supplied by the vendor and stored in the unit in nonvolatile memory. A minimum of 50 user defined messages shall be stored in non-volatile memory in addition to messages provided by the vendor.
