After years of planning and public outreach, construction for the Main Street Revitalization Project began in 2024. While this critically needed, voter-approved project addresses many community-identified issues and goals outlined by the City of Winooski’s (City) Strategic Vision and Masterplan, construction has resulted in a loss of revenue for businesses on Main Street. After consulting with local stakeholders, many organizations that might be a source of support, and other municipalities that had been through similar challenges, the City has concluded that its efforts would be well placed in a marketing campaign to encourage residents and visitors to dine from and shop on Main Street for the duration of the construction project (slated for completion in 2026). The City seeks a marketing firm to develop and execute a campaign that: attracts visitors and residents to shop on Main Street throughout the duration of the project strengthens the local economy uses elements of the City’s existing brand (visual, thematic) results in successful outcomes that can be replicated for future construction projects The selected firm will work closely with the project partners: the City, Downtown Winooski, and the Working Communities Challenge. In case of any disagreements among the project partners, the contractor may expect the City to provide final resolution
