a. The city recently constructed a 100’ x 120’ hangar to be able to accommodate planes that were utilizing other airports because we could not store them overnight. Their passengers were then traveling by vehicle to Marshalltown to conduct business. The availability of that hangar space is anticipated to impact traffic flow. b. The City’s Runway 13/31 is 100-ft wide and 5,007 feet long. It has 2022 PCI values that range from 45 to 48 with current year projections below a 40 PCI value. We believe Runway 13/31 will need to be reconstructed. Based on coordination with FAA and their review of latest traffic flow data, our runway, both length and width, will need to undergo further analysis and justification to determine parameters for a runway reconstruction project. c. The City’s cross-wind runway, Runway 18/36 had 2022 PCI values that ranged from 45 to 54. Discussions have been underway about re-evaluating past CIP plans that indicated rehabilitating this runway and giving more priority to Runway 13/31. This runway may require a review of cost/benefit to determine the financial feasibility of keeping this as a second runway.
