Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification. The RapidHit ID System is a fast instrument that produces DNA profiles in as little as 90 minutes. The system integrates sample preparation and capillary electrophoresis to generate DNA profiles that are aggregated within ABI RapidLINK software. It is needed by the laboratory to automate and improve the efficiency of these procedures in the DNA profiling process in rush cases. The RapidHit ID System requires periodic repairs, upgrades, and annual maintenance which require service visits and parts from Thermo-Fisher. No other vendor sells the parts or will perform the maintenance service. Life Technologies Support / Field Services are the only services certified by Life Technologies Corporation to Repair, Qualify, Calibrate, Upgrade, Maintain and Move RapidHit ID System instrumentation.
