The work of this project is for the Public Safety Building, 350 Washington Street, Brookline, Massachusetts. SCHEMATIC DESIGN Review the investigative/evaluation work done to date on this project. Note any deficiencies and make recommendations as to further study. The design team will meet with the proper constituents (Building, School Department and any other departments impacted by the design) to evaluate the material. After said review and evaluation of this material the design team will meet with interested stakeholders and regulatory groups to confirm a clear and mutual understanding of this project. The design team will perform all field surveys, investigations; testing for hazardous material; measured drawings; coordinating with utilities and cost estimates necessary in the preparation of the schematic design. The design team will present an evaluation of the project, with appropriate schedules and construction budgets based on the above. The design team will review with the Town the overall budget for completeness. Based on a mutually agreed upon approach, the design team will prepare the final Schematic Design Documents with budgets and schedules. Provide up to three (3) sets of plans and budgets. Written approval from the Building Commission is required prior to proceeding to the Design Development phase. DESIGN DEVELOPMENT: Based on approved Schematic Design Documents and any adjustments authorized by the Town in program schedule or construction budget, the design team shall prepare for approval Design Development Documents to fix and describe the character and costs of the project; continue to meet with all interested Town departments, boards and commissions as necessary. Provide a cost estimate. FINAL DESIGN Based on the Design Development Documents with any adjustments authorized by the Town, all drawings and specifications will be brought to 100% completion for bidding. Final drawings and specifications shall be submitted to the Building Department for review and comment. There will be a meeting with the all stakeholders to discuss and make final decisions and incorporate any changes. The design team will incorporate/ tailor the Town’s standard “front end documents” into the specifications.
