Initial setup of equipment and distribution of audiological processing equipment including hearing aids and sound field equipment. Active ppt team participant, consultation and regular team meetings with teachers of the Hearing Impaired. Collaboration and Assessment: • Partnership with PPT Members: The consultant works closely with Speech and Language Pathologists, Teachers of the Hearing Impaired, and other relevant personnel on the Pupil Planning Team (PPT) to determine the best hearing solutions for students. • Equipment and Training: They are responsible for selecting, fitting, and training students on appropriate hearing equipment, including FM hearing systems. • Maintenance and Purchasing: The consultant oversees the maintenance and purchasing of all FM hearing systems used by SPS. Consultative Services: • Workshops and Training: They provide workshops and training sessions for SPS teachers and staff who work with hearing-impaired students, both directly and indirectly. • Information Updates: The consultant stays up to date on the latest information and technologies related to hearing impairment and shares this knowledge with the SPS community.
