The Department of Health, Division of Public Health (DPH), Section of Rural and Community Health Systems (RCHS), is soliciting proposals for a Medical Director to provide services including assistive and consultative services for Health Emergency Response Operations (HERO), Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and Trauma program activities. The bulk of services will be provided to the EMS Office. RCHS requires a Medical Director to assist in the provision of services for three of the section's operational units; the Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS), Trauma Systems Unit and The Health Emergency Response Operations (HERO) Unit. The role of the contractor is to fulfill this requirement whose duties vary depending on the functions and needs of each operational unit. The contractor will collaborate with multiple stakeholders to ensure that the advisory and consultative services provided to the section encompass the operational realities of Alaska’s EMS regions. Additionally, the contractor will support the HERO Healthcare Clinical Advisor and fill the role of the Healthcare Clinical Advisor should a vacancy occur until the position has been filled.
