The scrap material is composed mostly of cast iron. The material may also contain some brass, steel bolts, rubber gaskets, perhaps stainless steel and four 55 gallon barrels of brass parts and meters. All material associated with the scrap metal must be removed. Picking through the pile will not be allowed. This material was recovered for various Water / Sewer replacement and improvement projects in town. The material has been out of the ground and exposed to the weather for quite a while so there is minimal soil adhering to the scrap metal. All material is contained in one pile on the ground. All material must be weighed on the State certified truck scale located at the Town of Manchester Landfill, 325 Olcott St., Manchester. The Town will require an empty truck weight as well as loaded weight slips for each load picked up.
