All respondents must be able to provide a full range of professional exhibit design, fabrication, and other specialty services to design, build and install the signage, exhibits and components, and produce graphics as required. See Bridging Documents for more detail for basis of design for items below. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials and equipment required to perform the work indicated below. Work includes schematic and final design of signage and exhibits. Work includes exhibit and signage construction documents, including technical specifications and shop drawings. Work includes fabrication and installation of exhibit components, custom furniture, and graphic, digital, and video production. Exhibit components include but are not limited to: Interpretive signage Displays Exhibits Print graphics Videos Digital information and digital interactives Exhibit furniture, artifact cases, and other structures 2.1. Signage The Design-Builder will work with City staff to outline final content, standards, text, and imagery for all signage. Provide draft and final design of exterior interpretive signage, Discovery Center interior interpretive and wayfinding signage, facility tour route exterior signage, and facility tour interior signage as outlined in the Visitor Experience Plan. Design-Builder will prepare drawings, specifications, text, and imagery for all signage types and quantities for City review and approval prior to fabrication. Signage will be delivered and installed on site following a pre-installation walk through with City representatives. 2.2. Exhibit Design The Design-Builder will work with City staff to determine final content, information, data, text, layout, design, and materials for all exhibits, both physical and digital. The Design-Builder will propose a design schedule and meeting schedule to take the conceptual designs to a detailed design with all content identified, the look-and-feel of design confirmed, and the final designs approved. 2.3. Design Documentation The Design-Builder will provide draft and final design in the form of construction documents, drawings, and specifications in PDF format sufficient for review, approval, and construction of interior exhibits in the Center and the process facility as outlined in the Bridging Documents. The Design-Builder will coordinate with Pure Water Facility’s architects, contractors, and City staff for design input to fit in with the facility’s power/data/lighting design, and for input on material choices as they relate to LEED compliance for indoor air quality. City representatives will review and approve design and design cost estimate (prepared by Design-Builder) prior to exhibit fabrication. Prepare and submit for review final shop drawings detailing fabrication. Shop drawings are required for each typical component type and include specially-prepared technical data for this project, drawings, diagrams, schedules, templates, patterns, instructions, measurements, and similar information not in standard print form. 2.4. Exhibit Construction Design-Builder to provide fabrication and construction of approved designs for interior exhibits in the Center and the process facility as outlined in the Bridging Documents and revised during the Design Phase. Exhibit construction shall include the following: 2.4.1. The Design-Builder shall oversee subcontractors during fabrication, and coordinate components among various subcontractors, so as to provide a complete, finished product for each item. Design-Builder to respond to field requests for information and submittals from subcontractors for approval and work with the City representatives to resolve as needed for an on-time installation.
