Plumbing Services includes but is not limited to the labor, materials, equipment, tools, and supervision necessary for the service, repair, maintenance, replacement, installation, and/or upgrade of plumbing systems in all West Virginia University owned buildings on the University campuses. Plumbing systems include, but are not limited to; piping, hot water piping, domestic hot water piping, cold water piping, domestic water, natural gas piping, drain piping, fittings, domestic hot water tanks and generation equipment, pumps, drains, vents, clean outs, toilets, faucets, fixtures, sanitary systems and any other associated plumbing. Plumbing Services includes response to service requests as well as emergency response for related plumbing needs. Contractor must respond to WVU, generally the Manager, Assistant Director, or Director, however there may be another WVU designee, by phone or email, in a timely manner not more than eight (8) hours after receiving a service request call or email and must be prepared to have an employee on site within twenty-four (24) hours of the phone call or email. If service is an emergency, contractor must respond by phone or email within one (1) hour and work must be started within four (4) hours, or earlier if possible. A site visit to a location identified in advance must be scheduled in a reasonable period. This should normally occur within forty-eight (48) hours, but as needs and circumstances dictate, this time will vary, it is expected that a Contractor will accommodate the needs accordingly. All appointments made between the Contractor and West Virginia University must be kept unless the parties agree to a change. Failure on a Contractor’s part to keep appointments may result in termination of the contract. All quotes/estimates for work will be done at no cost to West Virginia University. Each Proposer will be asked to indicate which services the Proposer can provide and for which WVU campus the services would be available. WVU has campuses in Morgantown, WV, Keyser, WV and Beckley, WV. The Proposer shall indicate which of the campuses the services would be provided and costs associated with each campus. It is not required of the Proposer to provide these services to all the campus locations. The Proposer may choose any or all the locations to provide services. WVU may award contracts to more than one Proposer through the issuance of this RFP. Additionally, WVU may request quotes from multiple awarded Proposers for any project and may select the lowest priced quote so long as such Selected Contractor meets the other requirements of the project, such as schedule and ability to perform the work.
