City of Helena Fire Station and Training Facility which would include the development of the final design, cost estimates, and construction oversight and administration for the project, to be located at the northwest corner of Kelleher Drive and East Custer Avenue in Helena, Montana. Fire Station Description The Fire Station shall include (3) pull through apparatus bays, utility area, firefighter living quarters, meeting room, workspace, exercise area, and kitchen/dining area. The project will also include a 4 story, live fire facility. The Fire Station apparatus bay shall be heated with finished concrete floors and shall include 14’x14’ high speed fourfold automatic doors with glass panels and safe travel LED indicators, an exhaust extraction system, floor drains, an EMS storage space, and a decontamination transition space. The bay should also include a pressure washer, air and electric shoreline air compressor, hose rack, and a tool area. The Utility area shall be connected to the apparatus bay and include a system for turnout storage, a turnout extractor, a Decon/SCBA extractor, and a SCBA compressor. The meeting room shall be a separate room with security separation, restrooms, wet space with sink for serving, classroom style tables/chairs to accommodate a minimum of 30 people, a SMART board, white board, and computer station. The room should have access from inside the station and exterior doors as well. The Workspace shall include three offices, a small conference room, and one report room with two computer stations. The Living Quarters shall include five separate sleeping rooms with twin beds; three gender neutral restrooms with a sink, shower, and toilet in each; as well as a laundry area with washer and dryer. There shall be a separate locker space to accommodate (15) lockers. The kitchen, dining, and day room should be an open concept. The kitchen area shall include ample storage for food and kitchenware, three refrigerators, a large cooktop, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and patio area with gas hookup for a grill. The dining area shall include a table & chairs to accommodate (8) people. The dayroom shall be a relaxing area with comfortable furniture and a television to accommodate (5) people. The exercise room shall have workout equipment, a television, and exterior door access with gym rubber flooring. The building shall have a backup generator with a 72-hour runtime, access control doors, a fire suppression system, fire alarm system, wi-fi, a safe haven baby box, and an emergency alerting system. The scope of professional services required by this RFP may include, but not necessarily be limited to the following: 1. Site work design will include parking, alley access, queuing design for efficient entry and exit, landscaping, utilities and storm water management. 2. Show how the project may affect existing utilities within the project area. 3. Schedule design review meetings with involved City staff. 4. Development of detailed project cost estimates and project schedules. 5. Preparation of final plans, construction documents, and bidding documents. 6. Analyze bid proposals and make recommendations on awarding a construction contract. 7. Schedule and hold a mandatory pre-bid conference and a mandatory preconstruction meeting. 8. Construction administration and architectural/engineering support services, including providing personnel, equipment and supplies.
