The City of San José (“City”) is soliciting bids from qualified vendors to provide delivery of specified transit mix concrete to job sites located within Santa Clara County. MATERIALS 1. Bus stop pad concrete shall meet the requirements for Class A Portland Cement Concrete as specified in the “Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction” of the City of San Josè, 1992 edition (hereinafter “Standard Specifications”), with the following Special Requirements: Flexural strength: Bus stop pad concrete shall have a 28-day modulus of rupture of 600 psi when tested in accordance with ASTM C78. Minimum Portland Cement content: 6.0 sack (564 pounds) per cubic yard. Maximum aggregate size: 1 inch Slump: 3 to 4 inches, maximum 1 ½ lb. of fiber (in compliance with County of Santa Clara requirements) in each yard of concrete shall be added. 2. Miscellaneous Concrete shall meet the requirements for Class A Portland Cement Concrete as specified in the Standard Specifications with the following Special Requirements: Compressive strength: 3000 psi at 28 days Approximate Portland cement content: 6.0 sack (564 pounds) per cubic yard Maximum aggregate size: 3/4 inch Slump: 3 to 4 inches, maximum 3. Calcium Chloride shall be installed in accordance with 1992 Caltrans Specifications, Section 90-4.04.
