3.0. MINIMUM PRODUCT REQUIREMENTS 3.1 PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: The Products to be provided by Contractor must comply with the following minimum specifications. If Contractor proposes a Product in the Contractor’s bid response that varies from the minimum specifications, the Products that Contractor provides must meet or exceed the minimum specifications and must be the same Product as Contractor proposed in its bid response. The Products to be furnished must be new and unused, free from defects, and in good working order and condition. The following are the OPS minimum Product specifications: 1. Battery electric type A bus chassis or commercial chassis. 2. Wheelbase 159” minimum. 3. Engine – Electric (at least 210 HP). 4. Minimum GVW 14,000 lbs. 5. Rear wheel drive – dual rear wheels. 6. Brake – Power with 4-wheel disc with antilock. 7. Steering – power. 8. Tires – all season mud and snow with excellent traction and better in the snow. 9. Transmission: Direct Drive. 10. Shock absorbers – heavy duty front and rear. 11. Stabilizer bar. 12. Glass – Dark tinted side and rear. Stabilizer bar. 13. Mirrors - Rosco-6 or equivalent heated bus mirrors with E-Z Bracket & breakaway mounting arms or minimum equivalent. 14. Warning lights – 16 LED light monitoring system. 15. Air conditioning – In dash factory front air and all weather mounted rear air above rear door; 53,000 BTU minimum with dual compressor. 16. Mud flaps – Rear. 17. Radio – AM /FM. 18. Vandal lock on emergency door. 19. Bus and chassis – fully undercoated and rust proof. 20. Passenger seating capacity - 16 passenger minimum. Must include floor plan drawing of seat location (specify number), heater locations, and roof hatch. 21. Child seats - Eight 39" integrated Child Seats (20-85 lbs., prefer up to 100lbs.) with a 3-point lap and shoulder belt and a 5 point integrated car seat. Installed with at least 29 inches knee room measured at cushion height at the seat's transverse centerline of the seat. 22. Fire blocking upholstery blue in color. 23. Rear heaters – dual rear heaters with one on each side and minimum BTU per Nebraska Title 92, Chapter 92: Minimum Equipment Standards and Safety Inspection Criteria for Pupil Transportation Vehicles (“Rule 92”). Auxiliary heating systems are also acceptable. 24. Lettering – 5" black lettering, centered on Bus body side with “Omaha Public Schools.” 25. Child check mate system installed in all buses. 26. First aid kit - meets Rule 92 requirements with a 36 Unit Metal Kit. 27. Fixed metal running board step at driver’s door. 28. Stop arm - --Solid state unit that spells out and flashes the word STOP in LED with a Diamond grade decal. Constructed from high strength engineering grade plastic. Servo Lock Mechanism (positive wind latch). 29. Circuit breakers, body/chassis. Easily accessible. 30. Battery – Li-ion batteries, minimum 140 kWh. Batteries thermal management using liquid coolant.
