The Kansas Department of Transportation is seeking competitive bids to provide a variety of Erosion Control Products to include Silt Fence, Erosion Control Blankets, Biodegradable Logs, Stakes, Circle Top Pins and Hydro Mulch to various districts throughout the State of Kansas. The Contactor shall furnish the necessary personnel, material and equipment to deliver and unload the Erosion Control products included in this bid solicitation at various construction sites on an as needed basis. 4.1. SILT FENCE Geotextile Fabric for Temporary Silt Fence. Provide material that complies with AASHTO M 288 for unsupported silt fence, with 4 ft. maximum post spacing. 4.2. EROSION CONTROL BLANKETS Materials shall be one of the products listed on the List of Prequalified list 34.1 Erosion Control Products (07-09002- R*). Copy of this list is attached. 4.3. BIODEGRADEABLE LOGS Provide commercially available biodegradable logs manufactured from excelsior wood fiber, coconut fiber, jute or other biodegradable material bound with an open mesh fabric of jute or other biodegradable material. 4.4. STAKES Stakes shall be 3’ or 4’ (min.) long and of one of the following: a. Hardwood – 1 3/16." x 1 3/16"; b. Southern Pine (No. 2) – 2 5/8" x 2 5/8"; c. Steel U, T, L, or C Section - 1.25 lbs. per 1’-0"; or d. Synthetic - same strength as wood stakes. 4.5. CIRCLE TOP PINS Product shall be as recommended by Manufacturer of Erosion Control Blankets. 4.6. 11 GAUGE STAPLES Product shall be as recommended by Manufacturer of Erosion Control Blankets. 4.7. HYDRO MULCH Materials shall be one of the products listed on the List of Prequalified list 34.2 Hydraulic Erosion Control Products (07-09002-R*). Copy of this list is attached.
