The Biosecurity Act 231, SLH 2024, appropriated funds for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2024, and ending June 30, 2025, that included funds for pest diagnostics which include taxonomic identification services of insects, plants, and snails submitted by Plant Industry, determination of absence or presence of submitted pests in Hawaii by island, use of reference collections, and electronic transfer of data. RFP 25-06-PI requests proposals from eligible institutions that have experience with taxonomic identification of plants, molluscs, insects, and other arthropods, utilization of reference collections, knowledge of where pests occur in Hawaii, and ability to transfer data electronically. Priority will be given to eligible institutions that have experience in taxonomic identification service, and the ability to perform these functions in a timely manner
