This project shall include construction of a new pedestrian bridge to replace the existing bridge on hole #13 of the Highlands Course at the Sevierville Golf Club. This shall include all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to remove the existing bridge construct the replacement, including approaches and final surface, to tie into existing ground as shown in plans developed and submitted by the successful Proposing Firm and approved by the Owner. The replacement bridge shall be constructed of concrete, steel, or a combination of the two and shall include pedestrian safety appurtenances such as handrails as necessary to meet all applicable ASCE 7 standards, OSHA, or other design standards for pedestrian facilities. It is the desire of the Owner to incorporate aesthetically pleasing elements into the span with a preference for a rustic arch with stone facing, relating to either the sport of golf or mountain scenes. This will be evaluated by the selection committee, with the corresponding weight as outlined. Preliminary plans, sketches, or concepts must be included in the initial proposal packet to provide the selection committee with a clear understanding of the proposing firm’s vision for the project. This submittal should include information that addresses geotechnical considerations, superstructure type, planned loading (live and dead), factor of safety, aesthetic/style, and materials intended for use.
