TRAILER: The trailer portion of unit shall be built to safely transport the machine components at highway speeds. The trailer shall be equipped with springs, wheels and tires to handle the gross weight of the unit. A torsion type suspension is acceptable. The trailer shall come with a 5,000 lb. capacity screw type jack with retractable metal foot, capable of being locked in the upright and stored position, for use when the trailer is not connected to the towing unit. The axle system of the trailer shall have a minimum capacity rating of 12,000 pounds. The trailer shall comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and the Motor Vehicle Laws of the State of Kansas. Properly sized safety chains shall be installed for breakaway protection. The unit shall be equipped with the required decals and signage. A 3-inch pintle eye type hitch shall be provided. The hitch height shall be adjustable from approximately 26 to 32 inches from the ground. The tongue length ahead of the platform shall be long enough to allow an acceptable turning radius. A lockable steel toolbox shall be attached to the trailer.
