• Tour current Town Garage and document current conditions; • Interview DPW staff to determine current and future needs and ideal locational attributes to best serve community; • Secure town wide GIS data from regional planning agency or Town GIS consultant. • Prepare mapping and report describing required locational characteristics. • Analyze town owned parcels with attributes that are conducive to use as a town garage; • Present to Planning and Zoning Commision town owned properties which are worthy of further consideration; (attend meeting) • Issue town wide solicitation on web site, social and print media seeking private properties for consideration. • Analyze privately owned parcels with attributes that are conducive to use as a town garage • Present privately owned properties to the Planning and Zoning Commission which are worthy of further consideration. PZC identifies the top 5 sites (town owned and private) for further consideration. (attend meeting) • Consultant prepares preliminary site layouts for the 5 sites. • Consultant presents the 5 sites under consideration to Planning and Zoning Commission. Commission conducts public hearing and selects top 3 sites (attend meeting) • Consultant further refines final 3 site layouts including, but not limited to, sight lines, access points, site grading using town topo, building footprints, required buffering for adjoining residential uses, areas for material storage and management, area for septic and storm drainage and prepares preliminary cost estimates. (attend meeting) • Planning and Zoning Commision forwards three (3) selected sites to the Board of Selectman for inclusion on November ballot.
