Purpose/Scope of Purchase: LSU AgCenter is purchasing drones that are used to fulfill the objectives of the awarded USDA grant, Agricultural Career Exploration with Drones (ACED). The drones called for under these specifications are used primarily by high-school aged youth that have completed their FAA Part 107 examination. Youth use drones under trained teacher or AgCenter agent supervision to acquire imagery of vegetation that are then processed to determine crop conditions. The drones may also be used by trained AgCenter agents to demonstrate drone capabilities to youth and members of the public.
