The objectives of this work (in relative order of importance) remain: A. To provide a timely and credible snapshot of WSU’s economic impact data that can be shared with various internal and external constituencies, including the audiences listed above under the Purpose Section 1.1. B. To provide “official” numbers and statistical comparisons that will be used for external and internal WSU messaging and serve as a standard set of economic variables that can easily be updated over time. (NOTE: It is anticipated a recurring economic impact analysis will be conducted at regular intervals going forward. Though this RFP is for the current analysis ONLY, vendor proposals should include comments and recommendations regarding the frequency, focus, methodology, and content of future and subsequent assessments.) WSU reserves the right to do further such related future work as would be most effective and efficiently accomplished by the apparent successful contractor. C. To compare WSU’s economic impact to other businesses and organizations in the region - and beyond, if applicable. (A list of peer organizations will be made available to the apparent successful vendor, but the vendor’s insight and opinion are expected). D. To provide a comparative analysis of WSU’s economic value to that of other nationally ranked colleges and universities (including the relative return on the current level of public funding) using information gleaned from previously developed and published economic impact statements (A list of peer universities is available and will be made available to apparent successful vendor, but vendor’s insight and opinion is expected.) E. Using historical data to create trend lines and track changes to the economic impact over the last 10 years. (This is not a critical element, but if data is readily available, the vendor should be able to articulate this as part of the reporting deliverables.)
