II. SCOPE OF WORK The Department of Parks, Recreation & Waterfront requests proposals from interested parties for a (1) summer service contract, with a possibility for a second summer to provide beach supplies rental concessions at North Beach. Supplies to include but not limited to: Beach chair rentals, beach umbrella rentals, suntan lotion sales, bug spray sales, kids beach toy rental, etc., A. North Beach’s annual seasonal schedule is from May 15 through Labor Day Weekend. We would expect the schedule to have a minimum season of mid-June through Labor Day. A schedule outside of this schedule is permissible upon prior approval of the City. B. This concession space consists of a 120 square foot space centrally located at North Beach, adjacent to the Snack Bar & Restroom Building for a Trailer to work out of. C. The North Beach concessionaire will have minimum daily hours of operation from 11:00am - 6:00pm, but hours can go to as late as 9:00 pm starting the Saturday preceding Memorial Day through Labor Day with the approval of the City. Daily attendance varies upon weather conditions but can reach up to 5000 visitors in a day. D. Proposals for service(s) rendered shall meet all city, state and federal regulations, licensing and insurance requirements, and be of a type expected and accepted by visitors to North Beach and Burlington in general. E. The chosen concessionaire shall not sell any food or drink. Vending for special events or promotions may be permitted outside the concession area subject to approval. The chosen concessionaire will be required to sell only beach supplies approved by the City. F. For the allowance to conduct business operations at North Beach, the Department asks for a proposed compensation package of 10% of gross revenue receipts, with a minimum payment of $2,000.00 annually. All payments must be made by the 15th of each month.
