HASLC seeks the services of legal counsel who will represent it and its subsidiaries on potentially all aspects of the process of constructing publicly funded multi-family affordable housing projects, as well as smaller construction projects within its existing portfolio. On a matter-by-matter basis, the successful firm or individual attorney will be required to: 1. Be thoroughly knowledgeable on federal, state, and local laws and regulations relating to multi-family real estate development and construction, particularly regarding contracts between HASLC and its contracted architects, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, and related vendors. 2. Be thoroughly knowledgeable on all aspects of contracting where various public (federal, state, and local) funding sources are involved, including owner protection, best practices, and roles, as well as licensing, permits, tax exemptions, bonding, Section 3, Davis-Bacon wages, procurement, insurance, warranties, liquidated damages, among others. 3. Be skilled and efficient at dispute resolution and litigation, when necessary.
