Seven Hundred-Sixty (760) Acres on the Moose Creek Ranger District of the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. THINNING REQUIREMENTS The Contractor must cut all deciduous shrubs and trees (e.g. mountain maple, Sitka alder) greater than 2 feet in height. Trees and shrubs greater than 5” dbh (diameter at breast height) may be girdled rather than felled. The Contractor must not cut Pacific dogwood. The Contractor must not cut Coniferous trees (firs, pines, larch, etc.). SLASH MANAGEMENT The Contractor must lop all slash to a height of less than 2 feet. All cut vegetation shall be scattered to a height of less than 2 feet throughout the unit. There will be no piling of cut vegetation. GAME TRAIL CLEARANCE The Contractor must clear all Forest Service trails, and visible big game trails to facilitate decomposition and ease of movement for wildlife and people. If preexisting game trails are not visible, the Contractor must cut out a walking trail on a 200ft contour interval through the entirety of the unit.
