The work performed under this Contract includes the furnishing of all labor, equipment, tools, and materials necessary to install monolithic concrete sidewalk, ADA compliant pedestrian ramps, curb & gutter, driveway aprons, and concrete alley pavement. In general, the work to be performed for the 2025 construction season is located in the highlighted areas shown on the attached maps (see Attachment A). However, the Contractor shall expect that a significant amount of additional work outside of these areas will be identified. Areas of hazardous and defective sidewalk conditions will be located, measured, and marked in the field by Public Works Sidewalk Inspectors. Public Works shall then provide the Contractor with Work Orders via electronic correspondence identifying the scope of work for each location. The Contractor shall expect that the scope of work will vary for each location, ranging from replacement of individual sidewalk panels to replacement of larger sections of sidewalk, curb & gutter, driveways, concrete alleys, and other related work as directed by the Project Manager or Sidewalk Inspector or its duly authorized representatives. The work may also include the installation of ADA compliant pedestrian ramps meeting the Minnesota Department of Transportation, November 2021 Guidelines for ADA Ped Ramp Installation. The Contractor shall understand that the overall bid quantities are not to be construed as a guarantee of the total amount of work to be performed under this contract, rather the total amount of work shall be as identified by the scope of work in each Work Order. The Contractor shall be able to complete a minimum of 1,500 sidewalk repair locations, with the potential to remove and replace approximately 325,000 square feet of sidewalk under the terms of this contract.
