1. The work includes the installation of approximately 1,100 linear feet of new 12-42 inch storm drain pipe, precast catch basin, manhole, and vault structures, two (2) check valves at the Portland Fish Pier outfall and Maples Street CSO outfall, reconstruction of four (4) ADA ramp, associated construction for roadway trench repair, traffic control and other incidental work including support of existing underground utilities including water, natural gas, electrical, and telecommunications utilities during excavations. Utility protection plans stamped by a professional engineer are required where the proposed storm drain on Commercial Street crosses the existing water main in two (2) locations and stamped utility protection plans where the proposed storm drain crosses the existing 48” and 3’x4.5’ sewer mains on Commercial Street. 2. The pavement restoration plan includestrench paving the storm drain trench on Commercial Street and striping and repaving a portion of the Portland Fish Pier parking lot and access drive. The pavement restoration plan is included on sheet 13 of the plan set which depicts the following pavement restoration sequencing and completion dates: Portland Fish Pier Lower Parking Lot (refer to sheet 13 for restoration area limits) 1. Base pave lower parking lot area after trench work is complete by November 15, 2025. 2. Mill butt joints and surface pave parking lot by May 31, 2026. 3. Reopen closed portion of the lower Fish Pier parking Lot by November 15, 2025. Commercial Street Storm Drain Trench and Fish Pier Access Drive (refer to sheet 13 for restoration limits) 1. Base pave fish pier driveway and reopen to traffic by May 31, 2026. 2. Base pave trenches in Commercial Street by May 31, 2026. 3. Mill butt joints and surface pave trenches in Commercial Street and the Fish Pier driveway by May 31, 2027. 3. Dewatering and trench shoring means and methods shall be the contractor’s responsibility and are incidental to the project. Dewatering, shoring, and erosion control plans shall be submitted to the City for review and approval. Note dewatering and erosion control measures around the outfall must adhere to the US Army Corps of Engineers Pre-Construction Notification Permit attached (Attachment D). 4. The work will generally be located along Commercial Street and the Portland Fish Pier. The Project has an expected duration of 8 Months.
