6.1. Project Overview This project aligns with the focus area of Economic Opportunity and the Participatory Budget whereby Mecklenburg County aims to increase social and economic mobility growth of students living in North Mecklenburg County. 6.2. Specifications/Qualifications 6.2.1 VENDOR RESPONSIBILITIES 1. The Vendor shall be responsible for the staff affiliated with this contract, ensuring that they have the education, any professional licensure or certification which may be required by law, and experience necessary to successfully carry out their duties. 2. Vendor will be responsible for the recruitment, assessment, and placement of interns with companies located in the Northern/ Huntersville area of Mecklenburg County. 3. Vendor will be required to work with schools, students, parents, local government, staffing agencies, and employers providing internship opportunities to execute the deliverables of the program. a. Collaboration with Staffing Agency: The program will partner with a staffing agency specializing in connecting employers with suitable candidates. i. Staffing Agency will assist in the logistics of timecards/payments, taxes, and other suitable work with appropriate student internship placements based on their skills, interests, and the needs of participating employers. 4. Career Pathways Assessments: Provide students interested in the manufacturing field with an outlined career pathway, required training/certifications, and necessary resources. 5. Paid Internship Placement: Align career pathway with paid summer internships in the manufacturing industry located in Northern Mecklenburg County /Huntersville. a. Interns will be paid at a rate of no less than $15.00 hourly pay. b. The internship placement will not exceed 160 hours total. c. Enroll 20 - 25 students to participate in the workforce development program. d. Vendor will provide dedicated personnel to the tracking and management of invoicing, payroll, and general record keeping required under the program. 6. Supportive Services: to include but not limited to: a. Career Coaching: Mock Interviews / Resume Support b. Transportation assistance c. Soft skills training d. Lunch e. Uniforms (if needed), and other needs to increase the likely hood of completion of the internship. f. Employer Connections / Networking Opportunities / Internship Placement / Site Tours
