1. Description of Deliverables: This Contract is for the purchase of truck mounted attenuator and truck trailer mounted attenuator systems including replacement parts and accessories to protect motorists and workers in both moving vehicle and stationary barrier vehicle application. 2. General Product Specifications: A. All Goods purchased under this Contract must be the latest standard new production model at the time of delivery as evidenced by the manufacturer’s then current published catalog or other literature. All parts must conform in design, strength, quality of materials and workmanship to current engineering standards of the industry. All parts and components necessary to provide complete and functional Goods must be provided. B. Each Good provided must be tested and successfully pass the Manual for Assessing Safety Hardware (“MASH”) Test Level 3 (“TL-3”) and designed to absorb rear-end impacts at speeds of up to 62 mph when impacted within MASH crash test standards. C. When purchasing an attenuator that includes an attachment and/or other attenuator accessory, the attachment and/or accessory must be installed at the Contractor’s facility in a manner so as not to compromise or affect the attenuators in any way. Contractor shall perform the installation at no charge to the Client Agency. Each attenuator must comply with all applicable Occupational Safety & Health Administration , Federal Highway Administration , International Organization of Standardization , as amended, and State and Federal regulations and safety standards in effect at the time of delivery. All applicable guards, supports and warning labels required by law must be in place prior to delivery. 3. Truck Trailer Mounted Attenuator Specifications: The truck trailer mounted attenuator (“TTMA”) must be: A. Designed to protect motorists and workers in both moving work zone and stationary work zone operations by dissipating the energy of impact of errant vehicles that collide with the rear of the TTMA. B. A modular type for simple and economical parts replacement. C. Capable of being towed by any host vehicle weighing over 12,000 lbs. with no limitation of maximum vehicle weight. D. Able to minimize rotation during non-direct impacts. E. Capable of being safely towed at 65 mph. F. Delivered, fully assembled and operational including all accessories and components required to attach to the host vehicle. G. All exposed steel components on the TTMA must have corrosion resistant coating such as galvanization or electrostatic powder spray. H. Equipped with LED stop/tail/turn/side marker and marker plate lights meeting or exceeding Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 standards. I. Trailer light plug connector must be a 7-way RV blade type trailer plug.
