MHCC’s Construction Pathway for English Language Learners (CPELL) is seeking a Construction expert to assist in training English language learner pre-apprenticeship participants in basic construction skills necessary to enter a registered trades apprenticeship program and do commercial and residential construction. In addition, provide job readiness workshops, collaborate with CPELL staff and instructors, and encourage the development of positive work ethics. Construction On Call Trainer will provide class instruction, hands-on training activities, certification trainings and orientations, use the Career Connections and CPELL curriculum, and contribute to the overall program training as needed to meet trainee and program needs. A successful candidate will be able to educate, motivate, and inspire trainees who are English Language Learners. Scope of Work: • Training might include any of the following: Deliver, as a substitute and/or co-trainer, tradesspecific courses and workshops for English language learners from Career Connections and other CPELL-specific curriculum. This includes team-teaching with an ESL instructor, construction theory and hands-on projects, program certification and OSHA 10 safety training. The trainer will provide Qualification orientations that comply with OSHA standards, in PITO (Power Industrial Truck Operations), and MEWP (Mobile Elevating Work Platforms) operation.
