Fencing Components a) Panels for fence will be four (4) rails, eight (8) feet long, and eight (8) feet high. Gates will be three (3) rails, eight (8) feet high, and lengths as specified elsewhere within this document. b) Aluminum material for fence framework will conform to the requirements of ASTM B221. c) Aluminum extrusions for posts and rails will be Alloy and Temper Designation 6005-T5. d) Aluminum extrusions for pickets will be Alloy and Temper Designation 6063-T52. e) Manufactured framework will be subjected to a thermal stratification coating process including, as a minimum, a six-stage pretreatment/wash, and an electrostatic spray application of a polyester finish. The topcoat will be a “no-mar” TGIC polyester powder coat finish with a minimum thickness of 2 mils. f) Coating to have an impact resistance of over 60-inch lb. according to ASTM D2794. g) Coating to have a weathering and corrosion resistance of over 1,000 hours according to ASTM B117, D714, D1654, D822, D2244, and D523-60-degree method. h) Coating to have adhesion (retention of coating) over 90% of test area using a tape and knife test as described in ASTM D3359-Method B. i) Fence Posts are to be 3” x 3” x .125” aluminum. j) Material for fence pickets will be extruded tubing 1” square x .062” thick for straight pickets and .125” for curved top pickets. k) Picket retaining rods will be .125” diameter galvanized steel...
