The project consists of adding an underground conduit in areas of existing electric infrastructure in the established Right of Way (ROW). Several existing utilities use these ROWs for their infrastructure, and spotting these is to be considered critical to the conduit installation. Per the project specifications, the conduit is installed normally in the range of 48”-60” deep per project specifications. There may be instances when the conduit is installed at a greater depth. Exposure to energized electrical infrastructure will be kept to a minimum for Contractor’s Employees by City Electric Department Personnel. All Contractors and Employees involved with the construction are required to attend a formal one-time yearly safety training by the City Electric Department before work commences. The contractor is responsible for all Employee PPE. The contractor is responsible for all One-Call location requests and follows proper spotting of buried infrastructure. Please include existing underground utility exposure in the per-unit bid to offset that exposure cost.
