SEC. 2.01 SCOPE OF WORK ITEMS AND LINEN TO BE LAUNDERED: Sweat suit style tops and bottoms, hospital gowns and robes, scrub tops and bottoms, socks, coats, adult bibs, client personal clothing and underwear, table cloths, fitted and flat sheets, non-fitted flat mattress pads, pillow cases, comforters, thermal blankets, fleece blankets, bedspreads, towels, washcloths, window curtains, cubicle curtains, dry and wet mops, rags, aprons, liquid impermeable laundry bags, cart covers, miscellaneous rehabilitative pads and coverings, and other launderable textile items. Personal clothing items may be included with laundry. Contractor is not responsible for loss or damage to personal clothing items. CONTRACTOR SHALL: 1. Provide pick-up and delivery of API pre-bagged soiled laundry from a centralized ‘soiled’ location to the Contractor’s site where it will be laundered. 2. Contractor personnel shall check and sort soiled laundry, bags and pockets to remove, bag separately, and return any combs, money, or other personal items or items which may be of value which may be found within API clothing or laundry. Contractor is not required to check every pocket for contents. Padding pockets for contents is acceptable. Any items found by the Contractor shall be itemized and documented by contractor and returned to API. Contractor personnel must maintain in confidence any knowledge he/she may obtain regarding the identity or condition of any clients observed or named, during performance of contract services. 3. Launder all items per Title 7, Alaska Administrative Code, Section 12, Paragraph 740, 7 AAC 12.740 (see exhibit A, page 18.) 4. Maintain consistent separation of clean and dirty throughout the delivery of service for infection control purposes. 5. Separate laundry schedules shall be established to maintain separation of API laundry and linen, from other customer’s laundry and linen. API Laundry is not marked for identification however, separation of API laundry and linens from other customers, must be maintained by the Contractor. 6. Sort and wash the soiled laundry, including stain removal, according to standard laundry practices, fabric content and soil load. 7. Dry the laundry according to standard laundry practices, and fabric content. 8. Inspect laundry for re-wash needs, separating, and packaging torn/tattered items separately. 9. Sort, group, and fold and package by size (S-M-L etc.) color, quantity and like item, in such a manner as to prevent wrinkling. Folded items to be appropriate to API shelving needs to prevent API staff from needing to refold 10. Thoroughly clean and decontaminate transport carts used for soiled linen, prior to utilizing for any clean linen transports.
