The contractor(s) shall provide overhaul or rebuild and return serviceable and airworthy Lycoming and Teledyne Continental engine services, as well as sudden stop/propeller strike inspections, on an as-needed basis. Some examples of engines are Lycoming 0-320-B2B 160 HP, roller tappet and Teledyne Continental IO-550-F 285 to 310 HP. Except as otherwise provided in the contract, the contractor(s) shall furnish all necessary material, labor, supervision, services, equipment, tools, supplies, power, accessories, facilities, shipping, and other things and services necessary for accomplishing the work to include any necessary inspections and return serviceable and airworthy. The following engines are currently operated by Aircraft Section and will be used in the foreseeable future. This list may change as the department’s mission and aircraft change. Lycoming O-320-B2B, Lycoming O-320-D2J, Lycoming O-360-A4M, Lycoming IO-540-AC1A5, Lycoming IO-540-AE1A5, Lycoming O-540-F1B5, Teledyne Continental IO-520D, Teledyne Continental IO-520F and Teledyne Continental IO550F. Below are examples of engines that may be overhauled during the course of the contract: 1. Serial Number L-18298-39E (HENP-RT8493) removed from aircraft N4151T after 2000.2 hours of service. 2. Serial Number L-12231-39E (HENPL-8493) removed from aircraft N7052 after 1935.4 hours of service. 3. Serial Number L-8601-39E (HENP-RT8493) removed from aircraft N7056 after 2004.6 hours of service. 4. Serial Number 284728-R (RIO550F12B) removed from aircraft N246CC after 1368.6 hours of time since overhaul. Engine spec numbers will be provided if/when an order is placed. Additional engine types have been provided on the Bid Schedule as examples of possible engines that may need overhauling during the life of the contract. The state recognizes each engine is different and will require different services, so the Bid Schedule is written to be a best estimate with the information provided. The overhaul shall be accomplished as per and including the below: a. In accordance with (IAW) the current revision of the Lycoming direct drive overhaul manual and IO550-D, E, F and L Sandcast series Engine Overhaul Manual as applicable b. IAW any and all applicable Lycoming or Teledyne Continental maintenance publications, including Service Bulletins, Service Letters, and Service Instructions. c. IAW latest applicable airworthiness directives. d. Engines shall be assembled using new Lycoming cylinders or other manufacturers i.e., Superior or Millennium upon approval from the State of Alaska in the event the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) cylinders are unavailable. e. Overhaul of Continental Aerospace Technologies (TCM) magnetos. f. Provide a new B&C starter with Lycoming engine overhaul and a new starter with Continental engine overhaul. g. Provide new or overhauled carburetor with carbureted engine overhauls. h. Provide new or overhauled throttle body, fuel control, or fuel servo, as applicable for fuel injected engine overhauls.
