The purpose of the Request for Proposal (RFP) is to establish a multi-year contract with a contractor to provide general emergency fire apparatus of all makes, models, and types. The Contractor must achieve and maintain the performance outcomes listed below, consistent with performance standards agreed to by the Department. * The work shall consist of the provision of a vehicle for the Metropolitan Nashville Fire Department as described in the requested quote. * Contractor must be willing and able to install Metro provided equipment like 800 MHz radios, antennas, Router/Gateways etc. * Vehicles will be required to respond to emergency incidents and shall be equipped with all federal and state of Tennessee required emergency warning systems and lighting. * LED based emergency lighting is required. * The vehicle must be designed to provide maneuverability in dense urban traffic, stability when positioned, and comfort for its occupants. * The construction of the vehicle must be such that it provides an apparatus ready to perform the work described with attention to detail and longevity. The estimated life of this vehicle shall be a minimum of fifteen (15) years. All aspects of the construction shall allow for future expansion and improvements. * The offeror must provide access to warranty and repair service within a two (2) hour radius of the City of Nashville for the vehicles. * A complete and accurate set of contractor's specifications, of the proposed apparatus must be submitted with the bid for the purpose of comparison; including general layout drawings showing the front, rear, left, right, and top view of the proposed apparatus. Dimensions showing overall height, overall length, width, wheelbase, and cab-to-axle shall be included in the drawings.
