Description of Work: The City of Asheville (City) is soliciting statements of qualifications from eligible engineering firms interested in conducting assessments of city buildings and structures that received damage due heavy rain, high winds, and other tropical storm Helene related causes. These assessments will focus on building envelopes, structural elements of buildings and freestanding structures, and civil and geotechnical engineering as required to support buildings and structures. The selected firm will conduct professional assessments to determine if storm related damage occurred, evaluate structural safety, and provide repair/remediation recommendations. Additional services may encompass design and construction oversight by the contracted firm during the mitigation or remediation phase. Buildings and structures include Asheville City Hall, Fire Station 11, Carrier Park Restroom building, Carrier Park pedestrian bridge, the Azalea park concessions/restroom building at John B Lewis field, and the Recreation Storage Building at Gashes Creek Rd. Other Helene related damaged assets may be included as additional services within the engineering scope negotiated within the contract. Applicants will be evaluated in conjunction with the anticipated needs of the City and information provided by the applicants as well as information obtained from references, persons, or other sources identified by the applicant or otherwise known by the City.
