The City of Quincy Park & Forestry Department is seeking bids for stump grinding services. Services shall include the grinding of stumps a minimum of 8” below surface, the cleanup of debris/wood chips as a result of grinding, and the placement of soil to fill the hole and level to the existing grade of the grass border. The entire tree stump and all surface roots greater than two inches in diameter shall be ground down to a minimum of 8” below grade. All wood chips and loose debris from grinding shall be removed from the location and properly disposed of. The void shall be backfilled with a quality soil mixture approved by the city. Soil backfill mixture must be 90% screened true loam and 10% compost mixture. Soil shall be deposited one-half inch above surface grade to allow the soil to settle to the proper level. Grass seed shall be immediately deposited over the newly installed soil at a rate of one pound (1lb) of grass seed for every one hundred square feet (100 sq. ft).
