The Maryland Department of Health (MDH or the Department), (Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Control), is issuing this Request for Applications (RFA) to provide increased access to healthy food and vegetables for low-income individuals in Maryland. Services will include targeted interventions around reaching low-income shoppers through increased benefits acceptance (EBT, Maryland Market Money, Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP), etc.). In addition, services should include the development of marketing and social media plan utilizing new and innovative models to reach the target audience. This project will enable farmers with farm stands on the Maryland Eastern Shore to accept SNAP benefits using EBTs while also increasing the number of community members that access fresh fruits and vegetables.
