1.1 Summary of Work The work covered by this specification consists of routine structural and vegetation maintenance for the City of Omaha’s (City) Fontenelle Park Green Infrastructure Facility (Fontenelle Park GI). It was constructed as part of the City’s OPW 52659 and 52658 Lake James to Fontenelle Sewer Separation project in 2018. The project consists of three storm sewer outfalls from the adjacent neighborhood, one at the south end of the lagoon, one on the west side, and one on the north side. Flow entering from the south flow over a series of weirs (retaining walls) and vegetation to filter the water before entering the lagoon. The west flow enters a large plunge pool to let the water settle and drop out debris in the water before flowing over one large weir into the lagoon. The outlet structure at the northeast corner of the lagoon takes flow from the lagoon and conveys it into the combined sewer system The lagoon is surrounded by native and adapted grasses, forbs, and trees. The park parking lot at N 48th and Pratt St has a bioretention system off its north east corner that manages the runoff from the parking lot and conveys excess runoff to the north, into the lagoon. Bidders shall be responsible for field verifying all quantities and dimensions before bidding. Award will be based on a lump sum bid for services provided as required below.
