The final design of the facility is complete and includes the following: • Contact tank and chemical feed for pre-oxidation. • MIEX® and GreensandPlusTM with sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) pre-treatment for oxidation of manganese and sodium hydroxide (NaOH) for pH adjustment, addition of polyaluminum chloride (PACl) prior to the GreensandPlus™ pressure filters will assist with log-removal of Giardia lamblia cysts and viruses, Per- and polyfluoroalkyl removal system, sodium hypochlorite for disinfection, polyphosphate for corrosion control, and sodium hydroxide for pH adjustment and corrosion control, and hydrofluorosilicic acid for fluoride addition. • Tank and backwash pumps for filter backwash. • Spent backwash water clarification, storage, and handling system, including storage tank and recycling of backwash supernatant back to the head of the treatment process. • Provisions for handling and storage of residuals and sludge, with design of up to one (1) open sludge drying beds for storage and one (1) infiltration basin. • Clearwell and high lift finished water pumps. • Chemical feed systems including bulk storage and metering pumps for: i. Sodium hypochlorite ii. Polyaluminum chloride iii. Sodium hydroxide iv. Polyphosphate v. Hydrofluorosilicic acid • Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system with appurtenant instrumentation for control of the new WTP.
