A. The purpose of this project is to remove the entire existing roofing system including shingles, flashing, vents, trim (rake, fascia, drip edge, and soffit), sheathing as needed, and replace with new for the entire existing Atkins Reservoir Water Treatment Building in Amherst, Massachusetts. B. The project includes the design of an above-deck rigid foam insulation system offering a minimum total installed R-value of R-45 (existing insulation and new insulation). C. The project also includes a PV solar feasibility study for future PV install. D. The Atkins Reservoir Water Treatment Building includes an architectural shingle roof with wood sheathing, metal purlins over steel framing, and unfaced batt insulation below. Complete evaluation of the entire roof system for compliance with current code requirements and energy efficiency improvements including thermal insulation, sheathing natural ventilation and design of all improvements and corrections for deficiencies identified is desired.
