The Contractor will manufacture and deploy specially fabricated concrete and limestone artificial reef modules in the Mississippi Sound. Approximately 900 individual reef structures shall be deployed in groups of five and arranged in a chevron pattern alternating north and south of a center line that runs the length of the area permitted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Permit # SAM-2017-01109-RCV). The reef modules must be Marine Line Form Habitat Patent Holder No. 7,827,937 or approved equal. The reefs will be four to five stacked concrete discs approximately 4.5 feet in diameter, embedded with limestone permanently mounted on 53 feet to 55 feet of hollow fiberglass pilings that are 12 inchesin diameter. Pilings used to anchor the modules must be jetted into the seabed a minimum of 40 feet. At least one module per cluster will be fitted with a permanent hazard marker. Permanent lighted wooden pilings will also be placed as required by US Coast Guard Aids to Navigation regulations.
